Here is my brain storm on the class:
Name: "Start your week out learning Art-Tainment (Caricatures) with Lars"
Short Description:

Week 1: First thing I will be all set up for a retail style Caricature booth with display and all. I would then draw a demonstration off a photo reference received from other fellow artist. I will have the drawing recorded and to be projected on a screen projector. They can observe the 5-7 quick Caricature in Black and white, and then another 5- minutes to add the color. I will then ask them to draw each other on the spot, get to know each other, and also so I can see the level of the students. The rest of the day talk history, foundations, and other links to references. Assignment is to do a value chart, draw shapes with shading in a medium of choice

week2: Have all your own sketch book to take notes, and sketch in to share with teacher. Importance of seeing shapes, squinting, sketching  from a photographs or the fellow student in front of you, critiques will be done with trace over lays by Lars.

week3: Demonstrate Traditional mediums, digital medium Caricatures and tricks in photshop for studio Caricatures. Home work continue to work on studio Caricature off a photo of a famous person or from photos supplied of my choosing. I will also be working a studio piece that you will be able to follow as the students work on there own work. Your final art work will be due at end of the month for grading.

week 4: I will continue to share news about the feild, share personal stories, work on private commissions right in the class that you will be able to along with, ask questions, while following my steps. You will be working on your final assignment in class, followed by me critiquing the Caricature art with a trace over lay or in photoshop showing pointers on how to improve. I encourage all my students to continue to keep me in the loop of your progress even after the class is over, but the further along you take the class with me the more advanced and harder the courses will be!

The winner of the guess question on Matt Damon

I ran a question on a close up of a drawing I did of Matt Damon on my facebook fan page, and twitter and my college classmate from Ringling College of Art and Design Talmage Watson guess it right. He won a free drawing by me, so he wanted his son drawn.

Published work in Bass Angler Magazine Fall Issue

Thank you again Mark Lassagne for the steady work. I did some coloring on another artist Josh Mathus inking, the client thought he was to complicated to work with. I left an email with the artist but no answer so why not comic books do it all the time.
The other article was really fun and I was able to take a really old dying man, and do an Illustration from his last wish to catch that big bass! Well enjoy.

Matt Damon Sketch and Final

Hello Again ,
Like a said before, when I first saw that the Caricaturama showdown 3000 competition on Facebook was having Matt Damon as the featured caricature subject, I could not resist! I did the sketch in my water color Moleskin sketch book, and then while I was at my retail booth at Pier 60, Clearwater beach I had the opportunity to add some color to the sketch. I used Gouache and I really like that I can have it waterdown in washes but it is tricky because it tends to really want to be opaque and flat! I am pleased with it. I think the medium requeres less of an absorbent surface, does anyone know of any papers or boards to use with gouache?
I did not use any photoshop on it and I might in the future on changes, because for a while I did not have any of my Power PC (later programs in Mac). I am now recently acquired the brand new CS6 full suite, and Office 2011! Have a great day

Mixed emotions about this years ISCA convention

For the first year I am having some really mixed emotions about seeing some of the other fellow artist at the International Society of Caricature Artist. Some of the newer Caricature artist drew me really mean but with raw truth, so I can not blame them because it is the truth! I have a problem sometimes being too social (to a point of being annoying), and I need to learn to focus on the goal, and be less social. There is a saying "sometimes less is more" and "not everyone is going to like you"! The people that drew me at last years convention. in St Petersburg Fl,  are very talented and I commend them for bringing this truth to the surface! It did not help me to invite one of them to be a roommate at the convention, and received a really hash reality slap message. I have never before cared about what other people think of me, and usually people that know me, that I am strange (and I am proud of it)! There is a difference at these conventions because we are all looked at a strange and creative in the real outside world, and I believe this is a type bullying within a society. I used to feel very comfortable in this environment, and hope it will not be so different but it is! This whole situation almost gives me a feeling of not going, but I have decided to reverse it and face the challenge and learn to draw. I also might just ignor everyone and just focus on learning, network (with whom ever talks to me) and try to win some prizes! I am going to use this feeling to add to the creative fuel at this years Convention! Try to love your enemy!

I just pray to god to give me peace and help me know the real reason for on this earth! A really good friend and very talented artist told me this: "But Jesus told us to love our enemies and this is just an example, Take it on the chin and love them like Jesus does. Your actions speak louder than any spoken Gospel message! I live my faith out that way." I feel better already just writing this down! Great work artist, just wait I am getting even, let the past be the past :)
I will see you all in San Antonio Texas, in November

Grandpa Baseball Fan split in half

How are you all I know I have not been that active on here, but I do post more regulars on my Facebook fan page  and you can always call me any time at 727-422-0668. Here is a quick 11-14 pen and ink water color and pen and ink of a Grandpa that has two grandchildren on two different teams. This is what the client wanted:
"I would like a  B&W caricature of the gentleman in the photos. He’s been watching high school baseball games with me for the past four years and I’d like to give him a drawing  as a going away gift. He has two grandsons that play for two different teams thus the two hats, Braden River and Manatee. I’d like to do something with him watching a baseball game with two hats or pendants or whatever you would like to do but include both teams. I’d like something simple, on the lines of what you do at live events, which I really like."
I used the thick paper off the large printer paper a Kinkos and I thought is would work good with the water color, but it did not soak in right I should have the line work printed onto water color paper. Ohh well !

I hope you all have a Blessed Sunday, I am now off to a Jewish Festival in Tampa (The same client as the Slide show project I did not to long ago)

What Can a Bass See?

Hello Everyone!
Here is one and some close ups of the Illustrations published is the spring issue of the Bass angler Magazine, I will share more when I get the issue in the Mail! If anyones sees the issue in the store please take a picture of it! :)

I feel totally blessed to have received publications and I always pray for more! I know god will provide and show me how to advertise myself, but we all know that takes time and sometimes alot of money! I will share more on this job soon, but in the mean while here are a little  sneek peak at the article and the art I did!

"What Can a Bass See? Part 2
The UV Mystery
By Aaron LeSieur

In this article we will discuss UV light, some of its’ properties and if bass have the physical ability to detect it visually.  You may be asking yourself why you should be concerned with UV light in regards to bass fishing.  Because there are bait and scent companies, like Pro Cure, Persuader and Tightlines UV, currently using UV properties in their manufacturing process to potentially attract bass."

I used my self for reference! :)

Bass Angler Illustrations

I am so honored and really like how my work came out in this Spring edition of Bass Angler magazine. The two eyes of a human and fish eyes are interesting, and I received a large full page Illustration. The Shallow Bass Article really should have had a full page spot, but that not up to me. Thank you Mark Lassagne with Bass Angler Magazine,. There is another Illustration coming up in the next issue soon. Good night and good bless!
