Time for a new year and and a new look

I have been trying to get a new look for awhile now, and with some help from fellow friends I think I got a more simplified logo. I was thinking of doing a new website with squarespace but first I need a new clean and professional look.
I have also included some new self Caricatures and old logo ideas.

New portfolio listing in The Workbook

I am so proud to have my work in this marketing website. I believe it will be a great way to get my Illustration work to be possibly seen by art directors and new clients.

It's official my #artwork is now listed on #theworkbook, They wrote a blog post for new advertisers.

WORKBOOK Blog - Workbook Latest Additions: September 28th-October 4th

and here is the link to my portfolio  http://www.workbook.com/portfolios/lars_erik_robinson

Here is a new bio I wrote for it:

Biography

Lars-Erik Robinson was born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1971.  I began receiving commissions at an early age of 12 where my quick drawing and painting styles were influenced by the early Hip-Hop culture. Graffiti art is what ignited a spark in me and I eventually went to school earning a BFA at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota Florida, USA in1994.

Discovering a love for drawing caricatures has lead to assignments in restaurants, retail booths at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, carnivals, Special events, and trade shows. I also spend time teaching art, giving lectures, and participating in conferences where I paint caricatures live,both digitally and traditionally. Because of my love for traditional painting, I have impressed a national client list by perfecting a technique to work digitally that looks traditional, which allows me to meet today's strict deadlines.

Lars now lives with his wife of 20 years, his 15-year-old son and two Golden Retrievers, Jack and Jill. He is heavily involved with his church, spending time with his family, watching movies, listening to music, and drawing, and more drawing!

New Self Portrait and other news!

Hello,
I am sorry it has been awhile since I posted on my Lars Blog.
New things in the works, is that I will be having some new printing options with Marketing Orbit.
 I was picked out of a hat from their Facebook page, and won a free printed T-Shirt. So I decided to finish a self Portrait of my self to use on the back of the shirts I will be getting.
I had a great conversation with a very talented Master artist and friend that I really admire from Thomas Fluharty, and I loved how he not just help me realize that I had to study anatomy, but also gaave me an encouragement to not give up on finding my artist from with in and continued to pray with me! Here is a sample of his work!
I need to get back to feeding the puppies and straightening the house before the wife comes home so here is my latest self portrait of myself. I would love to hear feedback if the texture works, should I use this as my promo portrait or is it to fat :)
This one does not have any extra noise or Oil Paint texture
In this version I added to Noise and a Oil Painting filter in Photoshop CC.

Become Patreon of my LarsER Arts

I feel as I am getting older and continue see what other artist are doing, sometimes I feel I have been missing out opportunities (Not promoting my work enough?). Maybe because I see them in great magazines, such as Time, Rolling stones, Weekly Standard, or have their art in amazing galleries. I focus my marketing to clients like these, and continue to send post cards and emails in hope to get a hold of the right person and therefore a chance to work with them! I have been approached by the The Workbook, Directory of Illustration, iSpot, and GigMasters, and they all want a major investment which is very hard to fund! (You can now help me on my Patreon site, to help my journey as an artist)

 I really believe these sites and books will help me to be known to these editors and art directors. I get down and out when I do not receive any work sometimes,  and once again cant prove to my family that my freelance illustration career can provide.  I am thankful for my food service job at Brookdale Senior Living, and currently have an opportunity to have a dining room manager position at Pine crest. Constantly I am grateful for my experiences I have with my clients and I always feel happy to be able to make them successful, and to be able make their dreams come true! Personally I feel as if I have been blessed to be able to create my Illustrations and/or entertain with my live Caricatures because God has given me the talent. I work everyday to improve what I do, and if there is anything I can do to help you grow just shot me a message!
Here is some of my current work for a Save a date Card, Childrens book with Arnie, and Caricature gigs with PhilPhest, US Foods, and Sacred Heart Spring Fest.

 Banner Idea to get made soon at a size of 4-8 foot (still working on some of the images are not the right resolution)

The next following Images are sketches for a fun "Save a Date" card for a friend of mine who is getting married and wants an unique Old time classic Sci-Fy style art work done! I am having fun!

   I am now typing this while listening in on a Tuesday morning Bible study with my pastor Randy Evans at my church.
We are talking about a Psalm 19
1             The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
    It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
    like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
    and makes its circuit to the other;
    nothing is deprived of its warmth.
The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
    and all of them are righteous.
10 They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
    in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
    Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
    may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
    innocent of great transgression.
14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
    Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

~May you lord work thru my heart, and help me create my art and relations with my clients, and friends be pleasing to you my Lord, my Rock and My Redeemer~

Caricature for Robb Smith 5oth birthday

I have had the honor of being able to do a Caricature portrait of Robb Smith with Robb Smith Productions. He is a friend and a business partner, so when he asked me to work at his roast for his 50th birthday party and do his portrait, I just knew I had to do the best with time allowed. I suggested he get the logo put on buttons for guest to receive at the event! Well here we go, I am on to a project for a fundraiser for LYON Shared. Have a blessed Sunday and please do keep in touch and comment on my work if you like thanks!
