You I thought I would share an update on an issue I had with the layout of my my latest project. Well after some changes from my client this t #shirt #cartoon #caricature #sketch #illustration is finally done, I wish could add more colors and even more values. Still pleased with the outcome? Very hard to do when the reference was bad as some where!

Dekoda Watson football player wanted a Caricature for his girlfriend

I was so honored to met Dekota Watson a football player for the Buccaneers, while I was working at a fundraiser for a Children's Medical Center at Tampa General Hospital, and the event was called Orthopolozza. I was drawing Caricatures at the event and Dekoda saw my book and wanted me to do a Caricature of him and his girlfriend. I thought I only had two days to do it, but it was more like a week and half! I finished this in a day in Magna Studios. I hope you like it! I have other things to share but can't yet! Have a great what ever is left of the Sunday!

USF Health fundraising gift commission

I was called yesterday from a client with the part of the University of South Florida "USF" health fundraising department, and she wanted me to paint 12 employees all in one page. This is going to be given to their boss that is being promoted to another department, so they all wanted me to draw them together. It was such a last minute idea and not much time so I convinced her to let me come on location and draw some of the employees on location. It worked out great and I hope to let you all know what happens on Thursday when he will receive the art!
Well here is what I ended up doing a 16-20 inch illustration board with pen and ink, and water color.

Magic Suzy Coloring Page

I got a quick job to make a coloring page for  a fellow entertainer Magic Suzy and her husband Joshua Seth. I might be simple but still fun to help other fellow artist!

Here is a testimonial I received from them today:
"Lars was able to take a promotional photo of me and turn it into a fun b&w line drawing. He was easy to work with and even did a requested revision without complaint. What a pro!"

Andy Serkis

I thought it would be appropriate to show you my step-by-step with painting my Andy Serkis.
I have been struggling with finding my style with the involving the new digital medium in photoshop. I really like to sketch right with pencil first, pen and Ink, water color, gouache, and then digital. Now I know the step of Pen and Ink is a step that is now needed for tighter work with less lines because everything will be painted over! I hope you like that I share my progress in this painting. Every week on Caricaturama Showdown we 3000+ artist all pick the same famous person and Caricaturize our own interpretation, and here is mine!

I hope everyone as a really great Thanks giving holiday and I pray everyone realizes the real meaning of christmas and it doesn't get barried under all the stress of the shopping etc.! Leave comments I love to fellowship! Peace

Samples of Gift Caricature of a family in Munich Germany

I was contacted by the mother of the Father in this Caricature Illustration. I like the fact that she wanted traditional media and I am really enjoying the pen & Ink and water color as my traditional medium of choice. Mark Fredrickson once told me at the 2009 ISCA Caricature Convention ( which is coming up real soon here in my home town, more to follow), and that was that I should try to leave my line work in my work as much as possible because that was my strong point. I am trying to find a fine medium between the liniar work and more tones and values. due to the fact that it is a gift for Christmas everyone will have to wait to see the full final here are close ups that I liked.

Up close of my Pen & Ink Process.

I can't show the whole piece yet and only close ups because it is for a gift tomorrow for a 50th birthday party. Here I played around on my phone while drawing in Pen & Ink. I really wish the client was convinced to make it more portrait like with out the Real blacks when using pen & Ink. Sometimes due to time and budget you just have to do the best with what you got, and just go for it. I will show more on Sunday when the party is done.

Ancestor Tree

This was a fun project and nice for a change. I was to Illustrate an old tree in a creative way and the add the different names and families. I really liked the line work and didn't want to cover the quality of the line soo I decided use Water color for the coloring.

Forest Whitaker Pen and Ink sketch and updates

Here is a sketch I did tonight in pen & Ink. Such a bold medium and it is really fun following the shapes in the directions of the planes with the lines to create value. I also wanted to show how the original changed while I was looking at it a little more. I will post more as the final is ready by Wednesday
